Privacy policy
Big Tennis is operated by Mass Density, Inc., based in Doral, Florida (“Big Tennis,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it and the choices you have. If you have questions, reach us through our contact page.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your email address and name when you subscribe, the details you include in a find-a-game post, and anything you send through our contact form.
- Information collected automatically: standard technical data such as browser type, device type, pages visited, referring site and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Information from cookies and similar technologies: described below.
We use this information to run and improve the site, send emails you’ve asked for, respond to messages, keep the site secure and understand which content is most helpful. We do not sell your personal information.
Newsletter and email
- Double opt-in: when you subscribe, we send a confirmation email. You’re only added to our list after you click the confirmation link.
- Preference center: you can choose which topics and lists you receive, such as coaching tips or network updates, from the link in any email.
- Unsubscribe any time: every email includes an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from that list.
- We may use an email service provider to send messages and measure opens and clicks so we can improve our content.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to keep the site working, remember preferences and measure traffic through analytics tools that show us, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. Affiliate partners may also set cookies to track referrals (see below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as well if you do. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Affiliate links
Some links on Big Tennis are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may place a cookie or use similar technology to record that you came from Big Tennis, so we can earn a commission if you make a purchase. Those companies handle your data under their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Tools that store data on your device
Some tools, such as the tennis journal, save your entries in your browser’s local storage on your own device. That data stays in your browser and is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data, or using a different browser or device, will remove or hide those entries, so export anything you want to keep.
Find-a-game posts
If you post on our Find a Game board, the information you include, such as your first name, general area, level and availability, will be visible to other visitors. Please don’t include your home address, phone number or other sensitive details in a public post. We may moderate or remove posts, and you can ask us to delete your post at any time.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
To make a request, contact us through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it, though no system is perfectly secure.
Children’s privacy
Big Tennis is not directed to children under 13 for the purpose of collecting personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our kids section and games are designed to collect no personal data. Newsletter signups and find-a-game posts are intended for adults. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we may notify subscribers by email. Questions or requests? Contact Mass Density, Inc., Doral, Florida, through our contact page.
