LISTEN, READ, WATCH
The best tennis media, curated by coaches
Some of my biggest breakthroughs as a player didn’t happen on court. They happened on a long drive with a great interview in my ears, or late at night with a book that rewired how I thought about pressure. Tennis rewards curious minds. Here’s our hand-picked guide to the podcasts, books, YouTube channels and broadcasts that will make you a smarter player and a bigger fan.

YouTube tennis instruction
Free video instruction has never been better. These channels break down technique, tactics and footwork with slow-motion footage and clear explanations. The key is to watch with purpose: pick one topic, take it to the court, and test it with a drill from our drill library. Video is a supplement to coaching, not a replacement for it. When you’re ready for personal feedback, see our coaching guide.

PRO TENNIS ON TV
How to watch professional tennis
Broadcast rights in tennis are split across tours, tournaments and countries, which can make finding a match confusing. Coverage varies by country and changes from season to season, so always check the current options where you live. Here’s the general landscape.
Tennis Channel
In the United States, Tennis Channel is a dedicated tennis network carrying extensive ATP and WTA tour coverage, plus studio shows and streaming options. Availability depends on your TV provider or streaming package.
Tennis TV and tour streaming
Tennis TV is the ATP Tour’s official streaming service, offering live and on-demand matches from many ATP events in supported regions. The WTA also offers streaming options in select markets. Check regional availability, since rights differ by country.
Grand Slam broadcasters
The four majors sell their own TV rights. In the US, ESPN has long been a major Grand Slam broadcaster. Other countries have their own national broadcasters and streaming partners, so look up the official tournament website for your region.

Turn media into real improvement
Consuming tennis content is fun. Turning it into better tennis takes a plan. Here’s how I suggest players use media as part of their training week.
- Pick one theme per week, such as second serves, return position or handling nerves, and choose content around it
- Write down one takeaway in your tennis journal after every episode, chapter or video
- Test each idea in practice before you try it in a match
- Watch pro matches with a specific question in mind, then look for the answer on court
- Share what you learn with your hitting partner or coach; teaching it locks it in
