Delray Beach Tennis Center

A public, city-run tennis facility in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, Florida — where everyday players train on the same clay as ATP pros.

Just west of the restaurants and shops of Atlantic Avenue, the center combines 14 clay courts, hard courts and pickleball courts with an 8,200-seat stadium that hosts the Delray Beach Open, an ATP Tour 250 event. Adults and juniors can join programs, leagues, clinics and camps year-round.

Play the clay

South Florida’s green clay is kind on the body and great for building patience, footwork and topspin. Bring clay or all-court shoes with a herringbone sole.

Catch the pros

The Delray Beach Open runs each winter (typically February). Stadium sessions put fans unusually close to the court — and practice courts are easy to watch.

Clay-court tip: Slide into wide balls with your outside leg leading and stay low through the finish — then recover with a crossover step. Practice it with the footwork drills in our Drill Library.
